Getting Daphne to giggle can be tricky. She is a tough nut to crack that one, but when she does break out, it is the cutest. A few nights ago, Evelina really had her going with her sound effects so we tried it again yesterday. Daphne loves laughing at her big sis.
PS: Please don't mind Evelina's bed head (nap time can be intense) and the fact that she looks like a boy. She's been picking out her outfits lately.
Our sweet "Cheeks Magoo" is 4 months old!! One of our many nicknames for Daphne. I ventured out with the two girlies a week or so ago and Evelina looked at Daphne and said with a big smile, "Hi Cheeks Magoo....Cheeks Magoo-y!!". Now, every time I say Cheeks Magoo, she has to correct me and tell me it is Cheeks Magoo-y. She is very happy with herself.
This has been a big month for Daphne. She rolled from belly to back for the first time which was very exciting. She doesn't seem to mind tummy time for the moment so she doesn't flip everyday but, when she does it is effortless.
She has pretty much given up the swaddle, with the exception being early morning hours, after 3am. She tends to wake up earlier if not swaddled so when she does, she gets swaddled with one arm out until she wakes around 6:30ish. She seems to still like being swaddled but once she started waking more than once a night due to her Houdini skills (I still don't understand how she could break out of a miracle blanket!!) I decided to bite the bullet and try a sleep sack instead. It has definitely been more of a process this time around. Evelina was a swaddle addict until about 6 months and after that easily went cold turkey.
Daphne also started to belly laugh this month, which has got to be the cutest thing when she gets going. Her first real belly laughs were courtesy of her big sister's shenanigans on our bed one afternoon. She also has a little tickle spot under her chin that gets her going as well. I just LOVE baby laughs!! The biggest news of the month is that Daphne officially started "school". She is doing really well. Her teachers frequently tell us how chill she is and how she fills her days with lots of smiles. They really enjoy her.
